She was the famous
painter of all the painters in the town. Her
paintings were fabulous, so was her heart. She had a gift bestowed by the great
goddess of art, about which she herself didn’t know. She took it for a dream.
She was living in a city,
but her heart yearned for countryside. So, she decided to paint a farm with a
cozy cottage, surrounded by lush green mountains. It was a vibrant wooden
cottage with white washed walls, brownish door and bluish windows. Bougainvillea
hung over the door as if welcoming one and all.
She closed her eyes and imagined to be living in that cottage. As soon as she opened her eyes, she found herself comfortably seated on a rocking chair with coffee. At first she thought it was her imagination, but imagination doesn’t linger for long. She got up and peeped outside the window, there was the farm surrounded by mountains, which she had painted. She was so excited. In ecstasy she ran towards the door and out in the corn fields, chasing butterflies, ladybugs and squirrels. She was lost in that beautiful world. Just a glimpse towards the sky and to her horror she saw the city room. She was perplexed. Now, she realised what had happened. She was inside of her own painting! She was filled with mixed feelings of fear and happiness. She again closed her eyes and imagined the city room, in a jiffy she was there, back in her city room. It was a relief for her.
The goddess's blessing upon her
was not a dream, but a reality. She had magic in her hands and she could paint anything
realistic she wanted. She kept this as a secret. She started to reach out to
downtrodden people, people in their death bed to give them their piece of
heaven even for a little while.
So, next time if you wish to be
in your dream world, you know to whom you should go!
Wows from me. Keep it up Vandana :)
